Alcohol and drugs are both very hazardous for commoners who consume them. Firstly, people starts consuming drugs and alcohol occasionally and then soon it turns into habit and later at no time they become addicted to these. And this is the stage when the individual makes their lives dependant on these substances.

Distinguishing an addicted person is hard for common people. So, it is often their family or friends who take a forward step. Though quitting is not that easy, but still addicted people should have a strong mind to stop taking drugs and alcohol. Most of the people find it difficult without the help of others. So, one of the best way is to speak with peoples, who are very close to them. And also they need emotional support from their family or friends. So there are lots of ways in which an addicted person can find the right path to get back into their normal life.
