From Beliefs to Religion
The earliest Greeks wrote about the advantages and disadvantages alcohol. And many great philosophers like Plato, had well-built opinions on the particular subject. Although it is the Roman period when came the first issue of extensive public drunkenness. In Europe, the Church believes that alcohol was god’s gift but also that drunkenness was offense.

Prohibition reached its peak with the National Prohibition Act in 1919.
